Adam Fairclough is a drummer/drums and popular music theory teacher born in Sheffield, and based in Liverpool, Manchester, and Sheffield. Having been playing drums in bands since he was a young teenager, and since attaining his enrolment at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts based purely on his audition and music theory grade, he has become known for being versatile in performing many genres convincingly and with passion. Fairclough toured extensively with Liverpool based Hard Rock band Black Diamond in 2015 with a total of over 80 shows around the UK within the 10 months of being in the band before deciding to push himself musically and experiment with other genres.

Having received drum tuition from Luke Flowers, Vidar Norheim, Dave Weckl, Antonio Sanchez, Virgil Donati, and Mark Guiliana, Fairclough has gained insight into the styles of Soul, Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz and R&B drumming in order to be able to turn his hand to almost all styles of music.

Over the summer of 2018, Fairclough performed as the drummer in the run of Shakespeare shows in the Rose Theatre, York.

With the technical ability and theoretical knowledge  he has gained from his teachers, Fairclough can aid other musicians’ progress and also help students to gain contacts to get their foot in the door with some of the most talented, and active, musicians and music students in the UK.

With the aid of his music theory teacher Jamie Taylor, Fairclough achieved Distinction at Grade 7 London College of Music Popular Music Theory (which is one of the prerequisites of enrolling at LIPA) and could teach this syllabus to others effectively .

Known for his passion for improvement, technical skill, and musical knowledge alongside his personability and encouraging nature, Adam Fairclough is a talented artist with a bright future in the music industry.
